Puerto Vallarta Scuba Diving

El Morro is one of Puerto Vallartas favorite diving locattions known for its abundance of pinnacles which rise from the ocean flloor, dozens of caves and tunnels awaiting to be explored in a lush undersea world teeming with marine life. Situated about 26 miles out from Puerto Vallarta in the Pacific Ocean El Morro lies beyond the protected waters of the Bay of Banderas. Hence, the site if recommend for certified divers with at least moderate experiance.

The are is populated by an incredible number of different species of fish. Commonly seen are Moorish Idols, Leather Bass, Golden Eye Grunts, Razor Surgeons, Harlequin Wrasse. In addition the site is a great place to encounter the The great Pacific Manta, Sailfish, Dolphins, Turtles, large schools of Jacks and occasionally whale sharks during May through July.

El CHIMO

EL Chimo is a small village on the winding road into Puerto Vallarta and the last truly fishing village left. This spectacular dive site accessible by boat lies about 26 miles along the southern coast of the Bay of Banderas. With Moderate to Strong Currents this dive site is reserved for advanced divers only. EL Chimo has unique topography which makes this divesite truly interesting, from sloping white sands at 60 to 130 feet, Amazing drop offs into the abyss and an over abundance of marine life. El Chimo is full day trip so divers should be prepared for a rather full day of diving.

El Chimo can best be experianced by divers trained to use doubles or re-breathers. However, for the recreational diver who just wishes to experiance Puerto Vallartas majestic and awe inspiring diving this would be the place to visit.

LOS ARCOS

Los Arcos National Underwater Marine Preserve is Puerto Vallarta's Most Popular Dive Location. . As part of the Underwater Marine Preserve there is no fishing allowed. This restriction has allowed the abundance of Marine Life to expand to incredible levels.

Due to its close proximity and short boat ride from the Puerto Vallarta Marinas this dive site is visited by many divers in any given day. Conditions are excellent for the New or experianced diver. With depths from 20 to the incredible drop off into the abyss this site has something for all types and level of scuba diver. Devil's Jaw is an awesome wall that tops out at 60 feet, dropping a whopping 1800 feet into the abyss.

You will have the opportunity to see angelfish, butterflyfish, damsels, parrot fish, needlefish, puffers, eagle rays, giant mantas and sea turtles.

Congratulations to all or our May 2009, Instructor Candidates who successfully completed their Instructor Development Course in Manzanillo. And to David and Marc who joined as in Puerto Vallarta us as staff members.
